Privacy

This page explains what LewLz stores to run the service. It is a working draft for lawyer review, not legal advice. We do not claim end-to-end encryption.

Overview

LewLz is a Windows-first communication system. We store the account, entitlement and operational metadata needed to deliver calling, chat, meetings and billing. Ordinary admin tools do not browse private conversations or recording content.

Account data

When you register we store username, email, password hash, LewLz number, display name and optional avatar. Email verification and password-reset tokens are short-lived. Sign-in uses short-lived access tokens and refresh tokens.

Calls and call metadata

We keep metadata needed to operate calls: participants, times, duration, entitlements and device context. Call audio and video are not stored as a permanent cloud archive.

Chat

Direct chat is part of the product. Message content is stored as required to deliver conversations. Private conversations are not available to ordinary admin browsing. Operational metadata (who, when) is what support uses.

Files

File transfer is peer-to-peer. LewLz does not permanently store file bytes on the VPS as a file archive. We may keep transfer metadata such as size, status and participants.

Meetings

Scheduled meetings store title, time, host, participants and join identifiers. Guests can join in the browser at /meeting/. Meeting media follows the same rule as calls: not kept as a permanent cloud archive.

Recordings

Recording is a product feature. Recordings you keep on a Windows PC stay on that PC unless you explicitly upload or move them. Meeting recording, where used, is never silent — participants should know.

Voicemail

Missed-call voicemail is stored for delivery in the app. Audio is not emailed as an attachment. Voicemail you download or keep locally remains on that PC.

Devices and sessions

We store registered devices (name, type, OS description, last seen) to enforce Free (1 device) and Premium (up to 3). Web sign-in uses sessionStorage on this site. The Windows app holds its own local session.

Subscriptions and billing

LewLz does not store card numbers, CVV or full payment credentials. Checkout and the customer portal are hosted by the billing provider. We store provider customer and subscription identifiers, plan status, renewal or expiry dates, and billing events needed to unlock or revoke Premium.

Website data

This marketing site uses sessionStorage for a signed-in web session and localStorage for theme preference. We do not sell personal data. Meeting guest pages at /meeting/ are separate from these marketing pages.

Security

Passwords are stored as hashes. Report suspected account abuse to support@lewlz.com. Do not send passwords, recovery codes or authentication tokens.

Retention

Account, chat metadata and operational records remain while the account exists. Local recordings, voicemail files and chat caches on a PC stay on that PC until you delete them there.

Account deletion

You can delete your account from this website or the Windows app after password confirmation and typing DELETE. Server sessions are revoked. Local files already on a PC remain local.
